The Tecnam P96 Golf is an Italian two-seat light aircraft, appreciated for its straightforward design, low operating costs and suitability for training and leisure flying. Designed by Luigi Pascale, who also designed the P92 Echo, the P96 first flew in 1997 and production continued through 2006. It is a low-wing, all-metal airplane, except for the ailerons and flaps, which are fabric covered, and the turtle deck and forward cowling are made of fiberglass. Lightweight composite wing tips complete the wing. Around the cockpit, a welded steel framework provides an extra measure of protection. Landing gear legs are steel, bolted into the spar carrythrough. The fixed tricycle landing gear includes a steerable nosewheel.
Two factory variants were offered: Golf 80 with the Rotax 912 UL 80 hp and Golf 100 with the Rotax 912 ULS 100 hp. Standard fuel capacity is 70 litres in wing tanks, giving about four hours endurance and a range around 400 nautical miles. Cruise speeds are about 110 to 116 knots for the 100 hp version. Stall speed with flaps is about 33 knots. The cabin is wide, with 43 inches side to side shoulder width, and seats two side by side under a sliding canopy. The canopy can be opened in flight. Dual controls, dual throttles and electric flaps are standard.
Empty weight is around 281 kg, and maximum take off weight is 544 kg or 600 kg, depending on configuration. The useful load is about 263 kg. An optional ballistic rescue parachute is available. The P96 is popular for ultralight and recreational training, as well as private touring. The design shares many parts with the high wing P92 Echo. Typical used prices range from $38,000 to $70,000 USD.

What is the Tecnam P96 Golf?

The TecnamP96Golf is a propeller airplane designed by Luigi Pascale. It is an italian built light single engine low wing two seat aircraft with conventional landing gear, manual flaps, electric ailerons, wheel fairings, and an aluminum structure. The engine is a 100 hp ULS. The aircraft has a complete inspection and is currently listed for sale on AvPay. The cockpit provides a straightforward view, and it offers suitability for training.
The TecnamP96Golf is a single-engine, low wing light aircraft designed by Luigi Pascale and built by Tecnam in Naples from 1997 to 2006. The Tecnam P96 Golf has the engine Rotax 912 ULS. This engine has a power of 59.6 kW, which is 79.9 hp. The P96 Golf has approval from the European plane safety office, with number EASA.A.412. Yearly checkup is 3 to 14 days, and money for repairs is thirty to fifty bucks per hour of flying. The P96 Golf has a safety chute as an add-on.
For avionics, the Tecnam P96 Golf has regular cockpit instruments. It has a plane identification system with altitude reporting, GPS tools, and a GMeter. It has an electronics power switch and electric trim with indicator. The flaps range from zero up to forty degrees. Tecnam supplies a blank panel plate in the center so you can modify as you wish for avionics. The P96 Golf primarily has see-and-avoid radios, and it does not have IFR instruments or autopilot. Because of this, it is for training and leisure flying.
What are the specs of the Tecnam P96 Golf?

The Tecnam P96 Golf is a side-by-side ultralight. The engine is a four-stroke, four-opposing cylinders Rotax 912, using automobile grade fuel. What is the price for the Tecnam P96 Golf?
The low wing P96 Golf has a price of about $77,000. As of 2023 to 2025, typical asking prices for used P96 Golf aircraft range from about $38,000 to $70,000 USD. A used Tecnam 2002 Sierra model is priced at $70,560. Age accelerates depreciation. Aging raises insurance costs. Engines build up fatigue independently of airframe. Value falls as how close the engine is to needing maintenance between overhaul, because engine near time between overhaul needs money spent on big repairs, which lowers asking price. Few hours since major repairs increase the value.
P96 Golf has regional price differences across countries like Germany, Canada, Australia and the U.S.. The P96 Golf price in Europe benefits from proximity to the manufacturer in Italy and cuts transport expenses. The P96 Golf price in America has tariffs, and the United States has government approval fees for planes. Taxes on bringing in goods include import taxes, broker charges, customs, and insurance costs. Total costs include shipping fees, VAT, import duties, and fees on foreign goods.
