The Beechcraft T-34 Mentor is an American propeller-driven, single-engine, military trainer aircraft derived from the Beechcraft Model 35 Bonanza. It was designed by Walter Beech as a private venture called the Model 45, because there was no defense budget at the time for a new trainer aircraft. The first flight of the prototype was on December 2, 1948. The United States Air Force put the T-34 into service in 1953 as the T-34A Mentor, and the United States Navy followed in May 1955 with the T-34B. The earlier versions were piston-engined but these were eventually succeeded by the upgraded T-34C Turbo-Mentor, powered by a turboprop engine.

The T-34C is an unpressurized two-seat tandem cockpit low-wing turboprop trainer whose mission is to train Navy and Marine Corps pilots, which is why it does not have armament. It has a length of 28 feet 8 inches, a wingspan of 33 feet 5 inches, and a height of 9 feet 11 inches, with an empty weight of approximately 2,960 pounds and a max takeoff weight of 4,300 pounds. It has a max speed of 280 knots and a range of approximately 600 nautical miles, as well as a service ceiling of 25,000 feet. The Beechcraft T-34 Mentor is an American trainer. The T-34 Mentor was produced by Beechcraft, and the Mentor is a direct derivative of the Beech Bonanza. Designed in the 1940s for the United States military by Beechcraft Corporation, it remains in service more than six decades after it was first designed. The earlier versions, dating from around the late 1940s to the 1950s, were piston-engined.

The Mentor T-34A is based on the Beechcraft Model 45, a variant of the Beechcraft Bonanza. It joined USAF basic training in 1953 and left around 1960. The T-34A has a wingspan of 32 ft 10 inches (10.01 meters), height of 9 feet 7 inches (2.92 meters), and a top speed of 191 miles per hour (307.38 kilometers per hour). It has a range of about 1,321 kilometers (821 miles) and a top height of about 6.1 kilometers (3.8 miles). The US Navy began using the Beechcraft T-34 Mentor, designated T-34B, in 1954. The T-34B started US Navy initial schooling in 1955 and left instructional service in 1975. It has a wingspan of 10.16 meters (33 feet 4 inches), a top speed of 514.99 kilometers per hour (320 miles every hour), cruise speed of 395.9 kilometers per hour (246 miles per hour), range of about 807.78 miles (1,300 kilometers), and highest altitude of about 29,527.56 feet (9 kilometers).

The T-34C Turbomentor is an unpressurized two-seat, tandem cockpit low-wing turboprop trainer whose mission is to train Navy and Marine Corps pilots. Nicknamed the Turbo Mentor, it is an upgraded, turboprop-powered version of the earlier piston-engined T-34A and T-34B models. Built by Beech Aircraft Co. (now Raytheon Aircraft), the T-34C shares the same basic wing planform and landing gear as the civilian Beechcraft Bonanza series. The T-34C-1 weapons trainer has max takeoff weight 5,500 lb (2,495 kg). Service ceiling is 30,000 ft (9,144 m), but some models have a 20,000 ft (6,096 m) ceiling. The engine used in the T-34 is the Model V-2-34 38.8 L (2,367 cu in) V12 Diesel engine of 500 hp (373 kW). This fuel motor has twelve power chambers, is V-shaped, has liquid cooling, and is four-stroke. It has a displacement of 38.8 liters and gives 500 horsepower at 1,800 rotations per minute. The V-2 engine does not have articulated connecting rods.

Due to a shortage of new Model V-2-34 diesel engines, the initial production run from the Gorky factory was equipped with the BT tank's Mikulin M-17 petrol aircraft engine with inferior transmission and clutch. The M-17T V-12 four stroke gasoline tank engine was a derivative of the M-17F aircraft engine adapted for use in tanks. A large amount of T-34 tanks produced in the most difficult parts of the Great Patriotic War were equipped with M-17T and M-17F gasoline engines. 94 T-34 tanks with M-17T and M-17F gasoline engines were produced and delivered from October of 1941 to April of 1942 inclusive. T-34 variants used the V-2-34 motor. The OT-34 uses V-2-34 powerplant. The T-34-85 uses V12. After the war, the Soviet T-34-85 had V-2-34-11, with 500 hp and a modified lubrication system. Polish T-34-85 kept V-2-34-11, and Czechoslovak T-34-85 used a legal copy of V-2-34. T-34 tanks in the 1950s got rebuilt V-2-34M units with 500 hp (372.85 kW). No official plan replaced the V-54 motor in T-34-85, the body is not compatible with V-54 or V-55. The T-34M prototype planned to use a five-cylinder V5 motor (a 5-cylinder V5 motor). The V5 motor offers 600hp. The invasion in June 1941 stopped development.
